Where learning comes to life

Bring your group to a working farm where lessons happen with hands in the soil...

Every season offers something new to discover. Children collect eggs, harvest vegetables, meet dairy sheep, explore pollinators, bake from scratch, and experience firsthand where food comes from. Whether visiting with a homeschool group, school class, scout troop, or family, learning happens naturally through doing.

Why the farm

A classroom with no walls

Teaching has always been part of who we are. Carly spent her career as a nurse and childbirth educator, and Michael served 26 years in the Army while working as a Physician Assistant. The farm simply gave us a new place to do what we’ve always done — teach, care for others, and welcome people in.

We don’t expect every student to leave wanting to own a farm. We just hope they leave curious, a little more confident, and with a story they’ll tell at dinner.

Who we welcome

Groups of every kind

If your group learns better by doing, there’s a place for you here.
We welcome schools, homeschool groups, 4-H, FFA, scouts, church youth groups, and families.

What a visit looks like

Learning you can hold in your hands

Every visit is shaped around your group’s age, size, and what you’re hoping they take away.

Dairy Sheep

Meet our East Friesian flock and learn how a dairy animal is cared for, milked, and raised.

Gardening & Growing

From seed to harvest — how food actually gets to the table.

Pollinators & Bees

Why bees matter, how a hive works, and where honey comes from.

Chickens & Eggs

Daily chores, animal care, and gathering eggs straight from the coop.

Farm to Table

Cooking and preparing food with ingredients harvested that morning.

Baking & Sweets

Rolling, cutting, and decorating cookies from scratch the kind of hands-on baking that turns a lesson into a memory.

Learning comes to life on the farm

More than a walk past animals and garden rows

A visit to Ewe on the Farm is an opportunity to discover how soil, plants, pollinators, animals, farmers, and families are all connected. Guests meet our dairy sheep and chickens — and, depending on the season, turkeys and pigs — while exploring the real work of caring for a diverse, sustainable farm. Along the way, we turn everyday farm life into memorable lessons about science, stewardship, food, and entrepreneurship.

Sustainable Farming

Discover how rotational grazing, regenerative growing practices, and thoughtful land management build healthier soil and pastures. We also discuss animal nutrition and how we evaluate herbal, natural, and conventional approaches to supporting animal health.

Animal Care & Stewardship

Meet the animals that call our farm home and learn the important role each one plays. Guests explore ethical animal care, housing, nutrition, life cycles, and the daily responsibilities of raising dairy sheep, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. Seasonal animals and experiences may vary throughout the year.

Pollinators & Ecosystems

Step into the fascinating world of honeybees and discover why pollinators are essential to the food we grow. We explore long Langstroth hives, pollination, food webs, biodiversity, and the delicate balance that helps a farm ecosystem thrive.

For younger learners

Cooking, celebrating,
and getting messy

Some of our favourite days are the ones filled with children in the kitchen and around the table. Cooking experiences let young learners measure, mix, and taste what they’ve made from ingredients picked that morning.

We also host birthday celebrations on the farm — a day with the animals, in the garden, and around a table set for the occasion.

Good to know

A working farm

This is a living, working farm, which is exactly what makes it such a good place to learn. It also means a few sensible rules: all visitors under 18 stay with an adult, electric fencing keeps our animals safe and should be respected, and our livestock guardian dogs are friendly but working. We’ll walk your group through everything on arrival.
